Call the plumber: - Sidorov, have you already laid the pipes in the trenches? - Yes, yesterday. - Then go to sleep immediately! - "As you say ...", Sidorov thought and, curled up in a ball, fell asleep in the trailer

Hello dear readers of the channel and dear subscribers of the author's channel "Timofey Mikhailov".

Now we will discuss a burning topic. I express my, not interested opinion. Therefore, if yours is diametrically opposite, then I must hear it. In comments.

Lately, some "star" faces, on the Internet, vehemently convince their readers and viewers that polypropylene (hereinafter PPR) on water supply and heating systems is more expensive and worse than metal-plastic, as well as systems like "REHAU ". Why do they do this ...

The answer is very simple and lies on the surface:

All persons who claim so are associated with firms selling and installing engineering systems.

Why do salespeople and managers in the field of engineering systems recommend expensive materials, not polypropylene.

  • On the installation of a system made of expensive material, plumbers raise prices very high (usually they are associated with trading organizations). They consider themselves highly qualified specialists (this is often the case), so they should be paid more, although they themselves have recently soldered engineering systems from PPR to everyone.
  • You will earn more on the sale of expensive material, a higher percentage of price markups (the margin is higher). Compared with PPR.
  • A heating system made with such material, for example, evokes a sense of novelty in the customer. Everywhere the systems are made of polypropylene, and I have a lot of options: copper, stainless steel, metal-plastic (high-quality) or high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE). Therefore, there is a high probability that it will be recommended to their own, not "poor" comrades.

Why salespeople and managers in the field of engineering systems do not like polypropylene.

  • Inexpensive pipe and fittings, it is difficult to raise prices and will be rich in buyers.
  • Uncontrolled installers with whom it would be possible to milk the client in collusion. Due to the fact that a large number of polypropylene producers have developed on the market, they accordingly bring down prices for each other.

The real pluses and minuses when installing engineering systems made of polypropylene.

Polypropylene has two disadvantages:

  1. The quality of the source material has decreased over the past five years, at many firms. This is due to the high competition in the production sphere and attempts to reduce the cost of polypropylene by adding additives to it that worsen the quality of pipes and fittings.
  2. Failure to comply with the technology of installation of pipes and fittings. I wrote about these problems here: Link. I recommend reading. Perhaps you will find something new for yourself.

Advantages of polypropylene:

  1. The price of components such as fittings and pipes is lower than any other system.
  2. Installation price is minimal compared to other systems. Due to the high competition in this area. And if he learns himself, the more the instrument is not expensive, then in general "beauty"

When you are offered to make engineering networks out of "golden" material, I recommend weighing the pros and cons and choosing polypropylene appropriate material for your tasks.

What do you think about this? Didn't you miss anything?

Feedback is important to me:
