Mixed baking soda and paint, added citric acid and got an amazing effect

Hello friends!

Some time ago we tried an interesting recipe, mixed acrylic paint and baking soda, and applied it to the decanters. If you're interested, you can check out this article here.

And today we went a little further. We made the same paint with soda, applied it and walked over it with citric acid diluted in water. The effect is amazing!

Here's what we used:

· Construction acrylic paint;

· Baking soda;

· Citric acid;

· Kohler (optional);

· Hair dryer (optional);

· Brushes, objects for painting.

For the experiment, we applied paint to the decanter. But you can try on anything.

Step 1.

White acrylic paint was tinted to match the color of clay. You can make any color you like.

Step 2.

The decanter was degreased with nail polish remover and primed with acrylic paint. They left to dry for 1 hour.

Step 3.

Baking soda was added to the tinted paint. There are no proportions, you can add a lot of soda, it will not spoil the result.

Step 4.

We applied a layer of paint with baking soda to the decanter and, in order not to wait long, dried it with an ordinary hair dryer.

Step 5.

For the second layer, make the paint thicker by adding more baking soda. Apply the second layer to the decanter.

Step 6.

We dilute citric acid in a little water. The more saturated the solution, the better, the faster the reaction will go.

Step 7.

We begin to apply lemon to fresh paint with soda.

The reaction begins immediately, the paint foams and hisses. Thus, we go over the entire surface. Then leave to dry for 12 hours.

Step 8.

After 12 hours of drying, the paint adheres perfectly and does not peel off. We cover with acrylic varnish for 1-2 times and dry for several hours.

Here is such a funky effect!

After the varnish dries well, you can safely wash it in water, nothing will happen to the paint.

This technique can be used in different crafts, turn on your imagination and go ahead, create!
