Good afternoon, my reader. Gardening requires many tools: hoes, shovels, rakes, loppers, etc. etc. All this must be stored somewhere, know where it is stored, and not lose it. Here are some solutions that may seem interesting to any summer resident, gardener or gardener.

In any case, there are some buildings on the site, residential or utility ones. Most gardeners keep their tools there - and they can be stored conveniently and compactly, much like mechanics, locksmiths and other workshop workers do.

To do this, you need to make (or purchase, if possible) a shield that is hung on the wall. The design consists of several elements:

  • frame (wooden, and preferably aluminum);
  • plywood sheet fixed to the frame;
  • wall boxes, hooks and brackets attached to the sheet.

Storage is organized as follows:

  1. At the bottom there are compartments for small items and consumables - boxes with partitions, in which there will be skeins of garden twine, gloves, jars of pitch, etc.
  2. Above are hooks for hanging small tools - scissors, hacksaws, secateurs, etc.
  3. On the sides, closer to the frame stops, brackets are attached for heavy tools - drills, chainsaws, mowers, etc.

The shield itself is mounted on a wall (preferably a supporting one) in any convenient room. Its main advantage is that everything is at hand and in plain sight, the tool will definitely not be lost, especially if it is returned to its place every time after work. To be sure, you can take a permanent marker and trace the contours of the tool - then you will definitely see an empty place with the silhouette of a pruner or a hacksaw that you forgot to hang back on the shield.

Garden toilet

For summer cottages and garden plots, "houses on the outskirts" are often sold - ready-made outdoor toilets that are enough to be placed above the cesspool. But they do not have to be used exactly in this capacity - you can place tools in them:

  • long ones (like rakes or shovels) just put in a corner, or better - hang them on the wall in hinges;
  • small and medium tools are hung on clamps, hooks or slingshots in the same way as on the shield described above;
  • free volume is used for buckets, watering cans and other light, but bulky items.

Storage cabinets

Shallow cabinets with doors can be placed indoors - or, if the design allows, they can be placed right on the site. They can be made as a compartment or with conventional swing walls. If the cabinets are made in the street version, then it is better to make hinges for the lock on the doors in advance in order to lock the tool in case the owners of the house are absent.

The cabinet itself is organized inside in the same way as the shield: small things are folded into boxes, everything large is suspended from the inside on the walls.

Small baskets and shelves

All sorts of small things can be stored in baskets or boxes, which are closed with lids and placed on top of each other. So there will be less clutter, and things will be placed more compactly. However, there is a drawback: in order to reach something from below, you will have to remove all the upper containers.

To avoid this, you can organize racks or shelves in the country, laying out everything you need on them and placing boxes or baskets at different levels. In this case, you can simply take the desired container, use the contents - and put it in place. In this way, it is convenient to store planting material: bulbs, seeds, etc. To make it very convenient, you can make inscriptions on the boxes or stick labels, indicating where what and where what sort.

Metal pegboard shields

Pegboards (literally "board with hooks") are perforated aluminum boards. They are used in the same way as wooden ones, but their main convenience is that the hooks and brackets on them can not only be fixed as you like, but also moved from place to place. This is useful if, for example, you have heavily updated your toolbox, and you need to place new ones somewhere. It is easy to move the bindings on the pegboard, and you can shuffle existing items in a few minutes.

Lawn mower garage

For storage of large units (walk-behind tractor, attachments for it, a mower, etc.), you can build or buy a ready-made wooden booth. It is enough to cover the roof with a profiled sheet, roofing felt or slate - and such a "garage" will serve you for years.

Sealed containers

And finally: all chemicals (fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, etc.) must be stored in plastic containers or containers with lids. Packages should be forgotten as a nightmare. Containers (if the chemicals themselves are not packaged in cans or bottles) can be used in different ones. For example, washed and dried containers from under water-based paint are very good.
