Greetings to everyone who is interested in working with metal. Any handy person gradually begins to collect his own set of tools for the garage, his site, summer cottage.
There are factory tools, you have to buy them. But there are many homemade, simple and effective tools out there. I'll show you this, this is a home-made clamp, called Gavryushka, or a crocodile, or a monkey!
She has quite a few nicknames, but almost every working welder has such a clamp.
The very function of the clamp is a fixed fixation of two parts for their subsequent connection or some kind of processing.
And how about our little gruff, I wonder why this useful tool has such a frivolous nickname? This is a clamp, in which the downforce is obtained by the action of the lever.
Gavryusha is especially indispensable when welding sheet metal to any base. The clamp is obtained with these two horns, one clings to the base, and the second presses the upper metal to be welded.
There are no guidelines for the distance between these two holding horns. Here everything is done individually according to your goals. Therefore, welders often have just a few of these hawkers. Here I have three of them.
The photo above is a moment of my work. Here I welded sheet metal to the frame made of a shaped tube. Everything happens quickly and conveniently. I pressed it, grabbed it.
If I had been using a magazine clamp, the time it took to reposition this tool would take a long time for each seam. So for their own, certain types of work, the gavryusha simply has no competitors. Plus simplicity and cheap manufacturing on the knee. I advise you to make such an adaptation.
I duplicate almost every article on the channel with detailed videos. The video is also on the channel.
