- the roots become powerful;
- plants tolerate temperature changes better;
- the yield of tomatoes is increasing.
Preparation of top dressing
The solution will be prepared by a novice summer resident. Any type of bread will do. You need to dry it well, some also fry it. Experienced gardeners insist that it is best to use black bread. Add finely chopped nettle and dandelion leaves to the starter culture.
Solution preparation sequence:
- Cut croutons into small pieces.
- Place them in a saucepan and pour out 250 g of wood ash.
- Pour the composition with warm clean water.
- Add a bunch of shredded nettles and dandelions.
- Cover the pan with a lid, put oppression on top and forget about the mixture for 7 days.
If you want to speed up the fermentation, add a drop of old jam. If there is no ash, calcium-based fertilizers or bone meal can be applied. An unpleasant putrid odor is released during fermentation. Place the pan with the mixture away from the housing.
Planting tomato seedlings
With the onset of autumn, they dig up the ground and bring in rotted manure and wood ash. After that, tomato seedlings are planted in the spring:
- The beds are made in an illuminated area at a distance of 40 cm from each other.
- At a distance of 30-35 cm from each other, dig holes and pour at least 500 ml of infusion into each.
- Plant seedlings, cover with soil and water well.
Top dressing of seedlings
Tomatoes need feeding at the time of their active growth, they need nitrogen-containing substances to help build up green mass. Gardeners advise using solutions:
- Dilute 2 kg of poultry droppings in 1 liter of water;
- Pour 100 g of yeast into a bucket of water with the addition of 3 tbsp. l. Sahara.
When the tomatoes begin to bloom and bear fruit, use the following preparations:
- Agricola is an environmentally friendly complex fertilizer that triples the yield. It increases the resistance of tomatoes to various fungal diseases.
- "Sodium humate" contains proteins, carbohydrates, sodium salts and amino acids. They are made from peat, waste obtained after the production of paper and alcohol.
Disease protection
Late blight is a dangerous disease of tomatoes. Tomatoes can get sick in the summer in the open field, in the winter in the greenhouse. Most often, it appears in August or after rains. With late blight, tomatoes turn brown and immediately rot on the vine one after another. This disease quickly spreads to all vegetables, which looks like a terrible epidemic.
Use "Fitosporin", which is sprayed with bushes. To combat the black leg, which affects young seedlings, use "Immunocytophyte".
