Two years ago, thanks to the grumbling of his wife, he decided once and for all to solve the problem of a clogged kitchen siphon. And surprisingly, after installing the homemade product, I never cleaned it. And I remembered about him when I got under the sink to cut off the water on the filter.

He praised himself for the work done, and reminded his wife that such a problem does not exist in our house). For those who were not subscribed to me, at that time, I will briefly show how I made it.

It took such corners with a diameter of 40 mm, a cuff transition 40 to 50 and a pipe from the old siphon:

After reworking the siphon, I have never cleaned it in two years. It became curious why it does not clog. Disassembled, took a photo.

Further, all this is collected, according to the principle of a water seal:

So that the liquid is in these corners and the smell cannot penetrate the apartment. In the end, this is what happened:

Two years have passed since the installation of this siphon, and as I said earlier, it has not clogged me at all. Why I was curious. And I opened this structure.

First of all, I was greeted by a hanging hair, which in no way interfered with the duct. And after removing the water seal, of course, an unpleasant sewage smell appeared.

I disassemble a homemade siphon, photo in the gallery:

As you can see in the photographs, we can observe a thin layer of fat smeared along the walls. Which does not affect the fluid flow. In an ordinary flask siphon, the distance between the walls is small, leading to rapid clogging. Corrugation, bent, has a ribbed structure, fat is happily deposited on it. In my design, the walls are smooth, the fat does not cling, and the diameter of the tubes is large, the fat has no chance of turning into growths. This homemade product, I highly recommend!
