Beans are suitable for freezing, but they must first be thermally prepared. You should not worry - it will retain a large amount of nutrients and will not lose its taste.
Preparation
However, not all harvested seeds are suitable for freezing. Each bean must be firm, there must be no external damage to the shell, and the skin itself is smooth to the touch and shiny.
After careful sorting, the beans are soaked in cold water for a long time - from several hours to several days - until the shell is noticeably softened. The first half of the time, the beans should be at room temperature, and then put into the refrigerator. Periodically, the water must be replaced with fresh water.
You cannot freeze beans raw and without processing - they will lose all moisture, wrinkle and harden.
The soaked beans themselves can be frozen, but most housewives prefer to boil them.
Boiled beans
After soaking, the beans are placed in a saucepan and put on fire. So the beans are boiled for about 5 minutes after boiling, and then the water is changed to cold. This time, the beans are boiling for a long time, until tender. Each housewife salt the workpiece when she sees fit, I try to salt the seeds 15 minutes before removing from the heat.
After boiling, the beans are allowed to drain in a colander, cooled and put into freeze in the freezer in one layer for 2-3 hours. After freezing, the seeds are packed in prepared containers and put back into the chamber.
Some people prefer to blanch the beans, but I would not recommend this option: because of the short during the heat treatment, the beans get into the freezer almost raw, and what comes out of this, we already we know.
When preparing dishes, boiled beans can be used without defrosting.
Canned beans
Canned or purchased seeds are also suitable for freezing. The beans are placed in bags or containers in portions and put into the freezer. For even more convenience and variety, you can grind some portions in a blender.
Thaw the beans at room temperature.
Soaked seeds
The soaked seeds also have a soft shell and are suitable for freezing. They are thoroughly dried and laid out in bags or containers for storage, after which they are removed in the cold.
The above-described semi-finished products can be stored at a temperature of -18 ℃ for about a year without losing their taste and useful qualities.
They can be consumed as an independent dish, in the form of full-fledged side dishes for meat and vegetable dishes, as well as as part of a complex hot dish. The grated beans make a wonderful sauce.
There are no special prerequisites for such storage of beans. Such options are suitable for those who appreciate every moment and do not want to waste extra time preparing food.
