At the Black Friday sale at Ozone, two laptops were sold for 11,990 rubles. Their main difference was in the processor - Pentium J3710 (4 cores, 1.6 GHz) or Celeron N4020 (2 cores, 1.1 GHz). Laptops on Pentium "swept away" much faster, but in fact, those on Seleron were faster.
A month ago, I accidentally burned a KREZ N1403S laptop that had worked for three years (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1276529.html). During this month, I never got around to finding a master to see if it was possible to fix the laptop. And then they started advertising the sale of very similar laptops 14.1 "4/128 GB for 12 thousand (mine also had 4 GB of memory, but the drive was only 32 GB).
The sale was also a "circus": the sale at a promotional price was launched four times and each time laptops Digma P416 on a Pentium run out in a second, and IRBIS NB264 on Celeron snapped up seconds in fifteen.
There was no time to figure it out, I managed to order both and then I started thinking which one was better to leave and which one to refuse.
CPU Pentium J3710, which seemed preferable, appeared at the beginning of 2016, it is made using 14 nm technology and is intended, oddly enough, for use in a PC (Desktop). Its frequency varies in the range of 1.60-2.64 GHz, it has 2 MB cache, DDR3L-1600 memory is supported, power consumption (TDP) 6.5 W
CPU Celeron N4020 released at the end of 2019. The technology is the same - 14 nm, designed for mobile applications, frequency 1.10-2.80 Ghz, cache 4 MB, DDR4 / LPDDR4 2400 MT / s memory is supported, TDP 6 W.
I found the test results of these processors and compared them: https://cpu-comparison.com/ru/intel-pentium-j3710/intel-celeron-n4020/
Here are some of the results:
Cinebench R15 (single core / all cores): Pentium J3710: 45/150, Celeron N4020: 79/145;
Geekbench 5 64bit (single core / all cores): Pentium J3710: 227/717, Celeron N4020: 490/897
iGPU - FP32 Performance: Pentium J3710: 214, Celeron N4020: 126.
In computing, Celeron is faster, especially when only one core is running. Faster than Pentium in graphics.
And here is a comparison of these laptops directly on the Geekbench website: https://browser.geekbench.com/v5/cpu/compare/11248371?baseline=11251982.
Irbis on Celeron is almost twice as fast.
Both in archiving and in browsers, the Celeron laptop is faster.
I'll keep the one on the Celeron.
P.S. Of course, these cheap laptops have much lower performance than the top models, but for my purposes (work with measuring equipment, Excel, Word, Internet) they are quite enough.
I'll tell you more about the laptop in the very near future.
