Peppers and eggplants grow and thrive in the southern regions, and in the middle lane it is necessary to create conditions close to their climate. Experienced gardeners know very well that in order to get a decent harvest, you need to provide vegetables with proper care, watering these capricious plants is especially important.

Pepper

Peppers love moisture very much, but a lack of it, as well as an excess, can cause irreparable harm to a vegetable.

Growing seedlings is not difficult, but you need to pay special attention to watering it.

  1. The soil should always be moist, the slightest drying out should not be allowed.
  2. After planting the seeds and before the greenery appears, watered every two days.
  3. With the appearance of greenery, they switch to daily moistening of the soil, half a glass of water under each bush.
  4. Full rooting occurs in two weeks, respectively, watering is carried out less often, but more abundantly, once a week for a bucket of water per square meter.

I recommend watering the peppers in the greenhouse in the early morning, so that the leaves on the seedlings are dry in the evening and at night, and use only warm water, preferably from a nearby reservoir.

Growing peppers in a greenhouse and open ground is almost the same, the only thing is that seedlings are planted in the garden when the soil warms up to at least +18 ° C. Watering is carried out at the same frequency, twice a week, at the rate of 12 liters per square meter. After the first fruits appear, the soil should be moistened more often.

Eggplant

Eggplants, like peppers, intensively evaporate moisture, so the irrigation technology is about the same. You can get an excellent harvest only if certain conditions are met:

  • maintaining humidity in the room no more than 70%, which is a necessary condition for eggplant growth;
  • be sure to take care of good ventilation in the greenhouse;
  • at the time of the formation of ovaries and flowering, do not allow shading of plants, except for natural;
  • for a better hit of the sun's rays on the flowers, you should pick off the leaves that block the light;
  • suspend watering if the temperature outside has dropped sharply in order to avoid plant diseases.

For irrigation of eggplants, I recommend using a drip irrigation system. You can do it yourself, but the main thing here is that there is always the right water pressure. If there is no possibility and desire to make such a structure, you can simply dig irrigation grooves along the beds. Then the roots will be moistened more evenly and there will be no excess moisture. Eggplant is watered with the same frequency as pepper.
