The development of a "people's light pulsation meter" is nearing completion, yesterday I assembled a working prototype.
Today the spring sale has started on Aliexpress and I suggest everyone to buy everything in advance components so that immediately, when the public firmware is ready, start the device without waiting delivery.
Just in case, let me remind you that the pulsation of light is visually unpleasant, eyes get tired of it, it can cause headaches and exacerbate nervous diseases.
Everything that is required to assemble the ripple meter will cost 550 rubles, including the case.
The pulsation meter simultaneously shows two pulsation coefficients (according to the GOST formula and according to a simplified formula). Two oscillograms are displayed on the screen: the main one at the bottom, the enlarged one at the top (only the ripple itself). Additionally, the background illumination level, the minimum and maximum illumination levels in conventional units, and the scale of the upper oscillogram are displayed.
There is an automatic calibration of the background illumination level, warnings about too low and too high illumination for measurement (the device operates in the range of 100-2000 lux).
The programmer Stanislav Gritsinov and I completed the development of the measuring part (he wrote the code, I advised :) ), now let's take care of the design: there will be large beautiful fonts and color display of lighting quality in terms of pulsation (in fact, it is already there - the bar under the upper oscillogram changes color). I hope that in two or three weeks, when everyone will receive the components, the first public release will be ready. The sketch and firmware will be distributed free of charge.
All the main components can be bought from one trusted seller (the parts inside the box in the photo were bought from him). We will need:
1. Light sensor TEMT6000.
2. microcontroller NodeMCU (we choose the second option Nodemcu-CH340).
3. Screen TFT 1.77". Can be taken TFT 1.8" (the screen itself is exactly the same there, including in size, the difference is in the SD card slot at the back and that 1.8 has pins under the screen, and 1.77 has pins above the screen). 1.77" is better because the module is thinner due to the lack of an SD slot.
4. wires with Dupont connectors (choose the first option 10C Female TO Female). Of course, you can not use wires with connectors, but simply solder everything with ordinary wires. In any case, you will have to solder - the light sensor comes with an unsoldered connector, which lies separately in a bag).
At the last step before payment, change the shipping method for all items to "Aliexpress Saver Shipping", then the total shipping cost will be 58 rubles and the total price with delivery will be displayed 537.75 rub. Add promo code 20STOPZIMA and the total cost will be reduced to 517.75 rubles.
All that remains is the case, the switch, the Krona battery connector and the battery itself.
The body of my prototype is made of "Organizer for small things "Every day" 125x75x30 mm", bought in Auchan for 30 rubles.
A super small case can be made from boxes of toothpicks for 114 rubles, but "Krona" will not fit there. You will have to use external MicroUSB power or put one AAA battery and a Step-Up converter.

The Krona battery connector is torn out of an old battery of this type. The battery can be used both alkaline (Alkaline) and saline (it will last for two hours of continuous operation). By the way, if there is not enough space in the case at all, you can disassemble the Kron alkaline battery, remove six AAAA batteries connected in series from it and arrange them in the case as convenient.
Even if we do not have time to make the final firmware in three weeks, I will post the current one so that everyone who buys components can start the device, and then it will be possible to update.
