The Terminator is a fairly versatile tank fire support vehicle. It is believed that BMPTs should be part of tank formations and be engaged in the fight against enemy anti-tank weapons. In addition, the BMPT "Terminator" can engage in very effective suppression of infantry and the destruction of long-term firing positions. The vehicle fires on the move, moving in the same order as conventional tanks.

The BMPT uses an individual torsion bar suspension. The dimensions of the machine are 6960x3370x1940 mm. The ground clearance of the car is 406 mm. The combat vehicle is controlled by a crew of 5 people. The rocket tank is armed with a pair of 30-mm 2A42 cannons and a PKTM machine gun of 7.62 mm caliber. Missile armament is represented by ATGM "Attack" 9M120-1. In addition to cannons and machine guns against infantry, the Terminator can use a pair of AGS-17 grenade launchers. All weapons use a laser guidance system. The design of the missile tank allows the crew to fire simultaneously on four targets. In the event of a missile tank being hit, it has a set of redundant backup systems that will help fight for the survivability of the installation. PKTM has been developed since the late 1980s on the basis of the T-72 tank.
