Frameless smartphones are the main trend of this season. It seems that every company has already presented its own development. People like Xiaomi have already introduced the second generation, which we recently wrote about in our review.
The popular manufacturer of budget smartphones was no exception. Blackview, introducing the new sub-flagship Blackview S8. As you can guess from the name, the new product is its own vision of the popular Samsung S8 with a lot of original ideas and a unique price.
At the moment, Blackview S8 promises to be the cheapest frameless phone - at least during a joint promotion with Gearbest. During the sale, the Blackview S8 will cost $149.99 - significantly cheaper than its competitors, whose cost exceeds $200.
At the same time, Blackview S8 offers a lot of logical solutions and is ready to occupy the current niche of cheap and economical frameless smartphones. Style, convenience and economy are his motto.
The most striking detail of the Blackview S8 is the huge 5.7-inch diagonal screen covering the entire front surface (like the Samsung S8) with a non-standard resolution of 1440 × 720 pixels. It's all about the fashionable 18:9 aspect ratio, which makes the smartphone more elongated, provides space for more information and makes the smartphone more convenient to use.
The heart of the Blackview S8 is the energy-efficient eight-core SoC MediaTek MT6750T. Each core provides frequencies up to 1.5 GHz. Performance is supported by 4 GB of RAM. A 64 GB flash drive is used as a storage device.
A unique feature of the Blackview S8 is the presence of 4 cameras at once. The main sensor is based on a 13 megapixel matrix with a Sony IMX258 CMOS sensor and f/2.0 aperture. The secondary one has a resolution of 0.3 megapixels and is used for color correction. As you might guess, both the main and front cameras received a dual camera. Each module is equipped with a wide-angle lens.
The quality of the sensors and software processing built into the modern Android 7.0 Nougat OS promises the highest photo quality for the segment. The company plans to update the operating system to Android 8.1 Oreo this year.
Among other things, the combination of an energy-efficient processor and a built-in 3180 mAh battery provides the Blackview S8 with a long operating time. The manufacturer promises up to 2 days with active use. Plus, USB-C and built-in fast charging let you top up your battery in an hour.
Unlike most one-color competitors, Blackview S8 offers the buyer 3 color options at once: golden (Silk gold), blue (Coral blue) and black (Magic black).
As part of a joint promotion with Gearbest, the company is offering to purchase the Blackview S8 from October 16 to 23 for only $149.99. In addition, during the promotion it will be possible to purchase other smartphones from the popular Chinese brand at a discount:
