Seedlings for several years I grow in snails and diapers. I do not know how anyone, and I really like this method. And seedlings are always excellent, with a powerful and strong root system, which does not suffer for the transplant and as a nice bonus - tangible savings space on the windowsills.
So, this year I am as usual, soak the seeds in the snails, put them in bags, tied tightly and put on germination in the cushy - near the convector. Then my husband had to leave and all the care of children, the house and the farm (about a hundred chickens, 15 indoutok, two dogs and a cat with kittens) fell only on my shoulders. In general, it spun like a squirrel in a wheel. Occasionally glancing - hatch my peppers or not.
Then, as luck would have it, our very sick mother cat caught rhinotracheitis and her natural and kittens, babies, worries increased with interest. In general, it turned out that I looked once again in their snails with peppers, and there... most of the already hatched, and in some places have begun to form loops. But the worst thing was that these are my snails with seeds were completely dry! I do not know, or I'm in a hurry loosely tied packages, or hole which was formed, but it was clear that things will not be...
I'm still asleep land snails, somewhere deep down, hoping for a miracle. Wonder what happened, but in scanty scale - climbed all-nothing 12-15 peppers of 7 varieties (100-150 seeds). It was insulting to tears, angry at himself, you would know how...
Was the end of March, sow new pepper and wait until it rises was somehow too late. And then I remembered about the method, which once read on the Internet. And I decided: it was was not, experiment! :)
First of all, put the kettle on the stove. He pulled out of the refrigerator half pushdown thick-walled peppers, which lay there for almost two weeks. Chosen from ten and three seeds soaked them for 5-10 minutes in a solution of Alpin.
Quickly erected using stapler 20 cups of the substrate under the laminate. I filled them with earth. I waited for 5-10 minutes after the boil water in the kettle and spilled all the cups to the ground, almost boiling water. He laid the seeds of pepper, sprinkle with the ground and sprinkled on top solution fitosporin to shed a little boiling water to saturate the soil with live bacteria. Covered plenochkoj and again - in a warm place under the convector.
And then I decided to conduct a second experiment and compare what are the seeds hatch faster - planted in dry ground or soaked. I took a cotton pad, soaked and wrapped him in the remaining 15 seeds. All could do was wait.
Imagine my surprise when, exactly one week in my cups were first green shoots loops. Peppers in 17 out of 20 cups ascended together for three days. And cotton pads among the same seed was complete silence.
And only now, after a week, after sprouting, I saw that the seeds in the disc finally sprouted (13 pieces of 15). And peppers in cups already started to form the first true leaves.
Hatched seeds, of course I immediately sown in the drawer. Let's see what will happen next. I was wrong, because it is I do not have a double and a triple experiment! The first experiment - planting with boiling water. Second - dry and soaked seeds. And the third is that I have never cultivated pepper seeds from the store.
