5 flowers which are not afraid of the frost

  • Dec 27, 2019

Recently, I plant only perennial flowers that are able to survive our long cold winter. The thing is that digging up the bulbs in the fall becomes more difficult with each passing year. Age has an effect. A work while the area is not reduced.

Therefore, I have collected for a bouquet of beautiful flowers, which are able to survive even without snow, and especially cold winters. I'm very glad my decision, because beauty has remained, but the work has become a little less.

Below are 5 of my favorites, that are growing in me right now. There are other flowers that can survive the winter, but they are, I will tell in the end.

1. crocuses

Very beautiful and pretty undemanding flowers, which are able to survive even a snowless winter. Leave crocus in the ground in one place can be up to 5 years.

Afraid of these flowers rains and plenty of moisture, so try to plant them on the hills and uplands.

Personally, I have to avoid water stagnation, crocuses planted next to a small groove. Besides, at this point the soil slightly raised, since large grown near birch and when it falls back raised top layer of soil. So I turned the hillock, which is bounded on one side by a ditch separating the sections. This is a great place for crocuses on my bog is better not to find.

When these flowers are many, they create a bouquet of stunning beauty.

2. lily

Lilies - my favorites. Stately and beautiful flowers that are in the stores are simply cosmic money. They have long been decorated alpine hill right in front of the house.

Speaking of which, many believe that the Lilia need to dig out every 4-5 years. I have this flower grows well in its sixth year. While I do not plan it somewhere or carry seat, I want to see what will happen next.

(Leave Lily for a long time in one place can only be subject to verification of the bulbs. I'm a little loosened the ground and check to see if there are rotten or unpleasant Education)

Overwinter these flowers as well as crocuses, so do not worry once again about this.

3. irises

If Irises planted right for their trouble-free winter is enough to do a little mulch. But I will say at once that these flowers prefer sunny, well protected from the wind.

Irises desirable planted next to the small recesses in the elevated position. This is necessary to ensure that the soil does not stagnate water, and air is constantly circulated.

Before winter, these flowers need a little mulch layer of peat. This is done for low-snow winters, when the soil freezes much.

4. tulips

Tulips grow all my gardening friends. These flowers are unpretentious, well overwinter and are able to live in one place for very many years.

If the tulip is not sick and flowers, do not even think his transplant. Why do you prodelyvat extra work?

Of course, now there are new varieties and blends that are better seat, but there are none in my garden.

(Sami recall ever in the Union, we are seated tulips? Very rarely.)

5. Hionodoksa

Hionodoksa perfectly even experiencing the coldest winter. It seems that the flower does not pay any attention to frost. Another would take his example.

My Hionodoksa lived in one place for the 4th year and this year I'm not going to her seat. Be sure to write, as the plant will transfer this winter.

other flowers

Sweethearts many gardeners - daffodilsAlso tolerate cold well, but lately I have not put.

Except daffodils, well tolerate our winters:

  • grouse - very beautiful orange flowers;
  • Pushkin - unpretentious and rapidly proliferating flower;
  • Proleski - pale blue beauty;
  • muscari - a plant that does not require almost no care. (Not only likes stagnant water)
  • leucojum- I'll drop them in the next year and will write;

If you, like me, it is difficult to pull out the bulbs every year, make a bouquet for myself many years. He will delight every year and demand is not a lot of care.
