I recently discovered that there are already quite a few car tires on my site. "What would be useful to make of them?" - I thought. Garden paths came to mind, which just can be made from tires. I note that winter tires are better suited for these purposes, since they are softer and more pliable.
Car tire tracks have a long service life, since they are not afraid of mechanical damage and do not start to rot over time.
So let's get down to business!
To make durable garden paths you will need:
- Unnecessary car tires (starting from radius 13 and more);
- Electric jigsaw;
- An ordinary Bulgarian.
First you need to cut off the sidewalls of each tire. I recommend doing this with a jigsaw. If you work with a knife, it will take several times longer to trim. Don't expect to be able to quickly cut the inner parts of the tires. This is a very painstaking and long process.
As a result, you should be left with rubber rings with protectors. Next, cut each tire in half. Again, I advise you to do this with a jigsaw or a grinder. In order for the tires to fit snugly to the ground, you need to perform a few more manipulations.
Arm yourself with a jigsaw and make cuts of 3-4 centimeters on both sides of the rubber bands obtained. Thanks to this, the tires will fit tightly to the surface of the earth.
In terms of characteristics and performance, car tires are in no way inferior to a mine conveyor belt, which was previously popular to use for arranging garden paths.
These tracks have many advantages, the most significant of which are:
- Long service life.
- The low cost of materials, given that many simply throw away old tires.
- Ease of manufacture.
- Such paths will not be covered with grass and other vegetation.
- You can walk on tracks made of car tires in any weather, thanks to the treads, they do not slip during a rainstorm.
