How to paint a wooden fence besides paint? Penny, but reliable substitutes.

  • Dec 10, 2020

The most common option for fencing a site is the construction of a wooden fence around the perimeter. But the structure should not only be strong and reliable, but also beautiful. To give the tree a nice look, it needs to be painted.

However, the paint fade over time under the influence of direct sunlight, cracks and the appearance of the fence leaves much to be desired.

Over the years, the tree darkens, deformations appear on it. Such problems can be avoided by regular coloring.

In modern stores, you can see compounds that say that they keep wood from decay, repel moisture, give the fence a beautiful appearance, etc. However, the cost of such drugs is often "Bites".

I propose to make similar compositions with my own hands. At the same time, the costs will be minimal.

  • 1. Don't want to spend fabulous sums on paint? There is an exit! Take the cheapest motor oil (it will cost you about 60 rubles per liter bottle) and stain (plus 120 rubles). By the way, see that the stain has a water base. Mix oil and stain in a ratio of 3: 1. The solution is ready! To paint about 8 meters of the fence, you will need a half-liter bottle of stain and 4 liters of oil.

  • 2. Also oil can be mixed with bitumen. Process the wooden fence with the resulting composition. Some people mix oil with waste, but it has a pungent smell and is quite harmful to the human body.
  • 3. The next common composition Includes solvent 646, 5cm styrofoam, color pigment, and deep penetration primer. Combine a liter of solvent with 0.5 square meters of foam. Stir well until the foam is completely dissolved, add the coloring pigment there. Treat the fence with a primer before painting.
  • 4. One of the cheapest options: Dissolve quicklime (3 kilograms) with water (9 liters). Leave the resulting solution for several hours, then strain it and you can start painting the fence. So that over time the paint does not crumble, mix salt in it (100 grams for every 4 liters of the mixture). If you add drying oil or PVA to the solution (proportions similar to salt), then they will protect the coating from rain.

You need to paint the fence with such a solution every three years.
