I don't think it's worth saying that before starting any construction, you need to carefully calculate the amount of materials. If this is not done, then either you will have to run to the store again, or then puzzle over where to attach the remaining materials.
It also helps to save budget. So that the total amount does not shock you, you must first calculate everything.
Today I want to talk about calculating the amount of concrete obtained from cement grade M400. Let's say we have a 50 kg bag of cement.
To mix concrete M200 (the most common and popular brand), you need the following number of components:
- cement - 1 part (our 50 kilograms);
- crushed stone - 4.6 parts (it turns out 230 kilograms);
- sand - 2.6 parts (130 kilograms turns out);
- water - ½ part (i.e. approximately 25 - 27 kilograms).
In addition, in the calculations, we assume that a cubic meter of ready-made concrete weighs 2300 kilograms.
We determine all the obtained values thanks to elementary calculations: multiplication and division.
Then we need to find the total weight of the concrete. If we add 50, 230, 130 and 25 kilograms, we get 435.
We conclude that one bag of cement is enough for us to prepare 435 kilograms of concrete. However, in construction, the value is often used not of mass, but of volume. Therefore, you need to calculate how much it is in cubic meters.
We multiply 435 kilograms by a cubic meter and divide by 2300 kilograms.
The resulting value is 0.189 cubic meters.
Agree, the calculations are elementary, and the fifth grader can handle them. What did we end up with?
One bag of M400 cement, weighing 50 kilograms, allows you to mix 0.189 cubic meters of M200 concrete.
I think the calculation scheme is clear. If you take it as a basis, you can easily determine how much concrete is obtained from cement of other brands.
Be sure to also take into account other factors that affect your calculations. The weight of the structure, the conditions of its operation, etc. can make adjustments to the calculations.
One more point: the amount of cement used does not change in any calculation. However, the number of other components may vary.
