I have heard a lot, but have never seen this relatively new technology - "soft windows" in use. The situation turned up, a friend glazed the gazebo and invited to evaluate.
If you have not heard about this technology, then I will briefly tell you:
At the heart of soft windows, frost-resistant PVC film is used and, according to the manufacturer, it can be operated in the temperature range from -30 to +70 degrees. The service life is up to 10-12 years. This structure can be glazed on verandas, terraces, gazebos, etc. covered places.
So, let's take a closer look ...
The design is completely soft and frameless, stretched over special mounts. The advantage is that it is impossible to break it, neither for adults nor children, but you can still break it with a sharp object. Double-sided door lock with zipper:
The system can be easily and quickly transformed into summer mode:
- Locks are unfastened along the perimeter of the canvas.
- The film is rolled up.
- The roll is suspended under the roof with straps.
It unfolds in the same way - everything is in the reverse order.
Light transmission is at a high level due to the large glazing area.
All about the pros, now about the shortcomings, which also exist:
Due to point fastening - the structure around the entire perimeter is not tight. If in calm weather you can hide behind it from the bad weather, then with the wind it will sweep a little both dust and snow into the room. But, in defense, I want to say that with such a shelter it is still better than without it. The noise level is reduced, and inside the room with stove heating - you can warm up.
The second drawback is water marks. Rain and snow carry dust with them, therefore, after drying on the surface of the PVC film, stains remain unambiguously.
Price
For the entire structure (pictured below), a friend paid 46,000 rubles. But, the cost also depends on the selected accessories: eyelets, quality and quantity of locks, belts, zippers (from cheap to expensive components).
On average, the price varies from 1,500 to 2,500 rubles. for one square meter plus installation costs about 5-7 thousand rubles.

My personal opinion is that soft windows have the right to life, it is very convenient. But, the total cost of the structure is still expensive, despite the fact that it comes out one and a half to two times cheaper than metal-plastic windows. Also, there are negative reviews on the Internet that PVC film begins to grow cloudy after 2-3 years.
In addition, I note that since the installation is carried out similar to the installation of stretch ceilings - using heat guns, then there is the probability that after the first folding - low-quality material will decrease in size and can no longer be installed in its loops.
Before choosing, I advise you to weigh the pros and cons, read the reviews and make sure of the warranty agreement, since the cost is rather big.
