Disassembled a valve from an inexpensive anti-leakage system. Find out how it works.
- Brass valves "AquaBlok-Cinderella" stand on my water system. I have unmounted valves, but in a plastic body. And I will disassemble them.
Explanation
Typically, in leakage protection systems, motorized ball valves are used. When moisture gets on their sensors, they overlap. These devices are quite expensive. In my review, there was a system in which valves are used instead of taps. Working autonomously, without external power sources for at least a year. And this system is 2 or even 3 times cheaper than other analogues that depend on sockets.
Before disassembling the energy efficient valve, let's refresh our memory what they are:
-
Solenoid valves are normally closed, normally open and bistable. IN "AquaBlok-Cinderella" applied BISTABLE.
In a normally open valve, voltage is applied to close it and is held as long as the valve is closed.
In normally closed it is the other way around. Such, for example, are in washing machines.
In the bistable, the power supply is applied for a short time only to switch the valve mode for 0.5 seconds. We will review such a valve.
- So, we disassemble, unscrew four screws and remove the upper part. Before us is a rod with a silicone gasket.
In order to see how it works, I connected it to the control unit and pressed the open button, the rod flew out and almost knocked out the eye of the author of the text. Naturally, she has no free wheel in the assembled state. And how it works, take a look GIF-ku:
Next, we are interested in the platform against which the stock rests
Under this platform is a "membrane" that blocks and opens the main flow.
The body itself, as you can see, is divided into two parts. Very similar to a conventional valve.
Principle of operation:
- By blocking or opening a small hole, due to the overflow of liquid, we can influence the membrane, which closes or opens the main flow of the liquid.
- Very little energy is required to open or close the bistable valve. And in standby mode, the system itself does not consume electricity (less than 20 microamperes is almost nothing. The battery will be discharged for 5-10 years with this current).
- But if the device is discharged (after a year or two), then it will beep. Which you will surely hear and see.
